How to participate in wolf conservation in Croatia?

Your co-operation is absolutely essential for wolf conservation in Croatia. Here are some concrete suggestions how you can join us and help in our efforts to preserve natural values of the country:

  • If you have any information on a dead wolf, please notify an officially appointed damage assessor dealing with damages caused by protected large carnivores (the wolf and the lynx).
  • Information on the location of traps laid by poachers and poaching in general are to be communicated to the hunting inspection.
  • In case of a damage caused to livestock, please contact immediately the officially appointed expert responsible for your respective area.
  • If you keep livestock and live in the wolf's area of distribution, improve the livestock safeguard!
  • If you are interested in the livestock-guardian dogs and electric fences donation programme or wish to purchase them by yourself, please contact our regional offices.
  • Illegal slaughterhouse waste disposal sites may be a source of infectious diseases hazardous to humans and animals. Should you know of any, please contact immediately the regional environmental inspection.
  • Do not hesitate to contact us and we will gladly follow your invitation to visit your place or school and give a lecture on the wolf and other large carnivores, organize an educational exhibition and distribute information material.
  • We are working on the development of eco-tourism based on the presence of large carnivores in Croatia. Follow our activities and join us in time!
  • Learn more about the wolf and the wolf conservation activities and share your knowledge with the others!

We are looking forward to you questions and information!
