On 18 July 2012, a female wolf named W28-Tona, aged 3.3 years, was captured and collared. She was monitored for two weeks before her signal was lost, and Slovenian researchers were also contacted for assistance in finding this wolf. In April 2013, she reappeared in the territory of the Risnjak pack in the company of three other wolves, and the data were retrieved from her collar. From July 2012 to April 2013 (273 days), a total of 1805 locations were recorded, and it was established that Tona had spent the majority of this time in Slovenia, and her movements covered the territories of three known packs (two in Croatia, one in Slovenia). Her movement range was 1169.8 km². In August 2013, her collar was found near Crni Lug after falling off.
