On 28 May 2009, a male wolf was captured at Bukovi vrh in Gorski Kotar, just three kilometres from the site of capture of wolf W21-Luka. The one year old male, weighing 32 kg, was named W22-Drago and was fitted with a GPS collar. He quickly joined the Snježnik pack. Both these wolves are likely the offspring of female W5-Hilda who was collared in 2002, and whose VHF collar still emits data.

Unfortunately, though he spent the entire time of telemetric monitoring in Croatian territory, wolf W22-Drago, together with his brother W21-Luka, was shot as part of legal culling of the wolf population in Slovenia on 25 February 2010, just days after crossing the border for the first time.
