History of data collection

Though the project was officially completed on 1 December 2005, protection and research on the wolf continues. To that extent, the State Institute for Nature Protection cooperates with and finances the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine to conduct field studies and to collar one new wolf every year, and during the winter months, snow tracking is performed. Most active in the capture and collaring of wolves and telemetric monitoring is Dr. Josip Kusak, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Zagreb, and his assistant, Vedran Slijepčević. For a number of years, Dr. Goran Gužvica from the OIKON Institute of Applied Ecology has also been involved in field work and research and monitoring of wolves.
