Wolf Management Plan in the Republic of Croatia for the period 2010–2015

The Wolf Management Plan in the Republic of Croatia for the period 2010–2015 was adopted on 15 July 2010 by the Minister of Culture pursuant to Article 96, paragraph 2 of the Nature Protection Act. The Plan was the result of a two-year revision process which brought together all interest groups (representatives of relevant ministries, members of the Committee for the Monitoring of Large Carnivore Populations, scientists, hunters, foresters, non-governmental organisations, etc) through a series of joint workshops.

The draft Management Plan was created based on the results of these workshops, and on data collected and the analysis of data of authors, which was coordinated by the State Institute for Nature Protection. The Ministry of Culture, as the line ministry, conducted consultations with other ministries, and following this the plan was forwarded to the adoption procedure.

An important part of the Plan is the Detailed Action Plan with activities that should be carried out in order to ensure conservation of the wolf population in Croatia with the most harmonious possible cohabitation with humans.
