Three wolves collared in Gorski Kotar

On 16 July 2012, a wolf pup was captured and measured and given the scientific name WP08 (wolf pup 08) in the territory of the Suho pack. The male pup was captured at an age of 3 months and it weighed only 9 kg and thus could not be collared.

On 18 July 2012, a female wolf was captured in the territory of the Snježnik pack. She was named W28-Tona, and she was determined to be 3.3 years old with a mass of 29 kg. She was collared with a GPS-UHF collar. She was tracked for two weeks before her signal was lost. Slovenian researchers were informed but they also did not succeed in picking up her signal.

On 24 August 2012, a female named W29-Ajša was captured and collared in the territory of the Suho pack. She was 5 months old and weighed 14 kg, and was fitted with a VHF collar. The capture of the male pup WP08 and the young female W29-Ajše confirmed that the Suho pack had a litter in 2012.
