On the occasion of the World Biodiversity Day and the Croatian
Nature Conservation Day, promotion of the “Red List of Threatened
Plant and Animal Species in Croatia”, brochure on wolves, wolf
poster, and the bulletin of the LIFE project “Conservation and
Management of Wolves in Croatia” was held at the Educational
Centre of the Zagreb Zoological Garden. Mr. Davorin Marković,
director of the State Institute for Nature Protection (SINP)
and Mr. Mladen Anić, director of the Zoo, welcomed more then
30 representatives of ministries, scientific institutions, NGOs
and media. Ms. Ana ©trbenac, Head of the Nature Inventorying
and Monitoring Department of the SINP, gave an overview of the
Red List and LIFE project publications.
Next to the wolf lair, there was an information desk for obtaining
all relevant information on wolf conservation activities. The
information and candies were given to children by the Wolf, the
Little Red Riding Hood and the Sheep.
