The Open House

In the region of Lika and Gorski kotar The Open House was held, an educational and information exhibition presenting plans for the management of wolves, lynx and brown bears. The purpose of such a presentation is to make local population more familiar with the overall problem area relating to large carnivores inhabiting their respective region.

The Open House started in Gospić, Lika on 29 June 2005 . The festive opening of the event was attended by Ms. Željka Serdar, Head of Economic Development Office of the County Ličko-senjska, Ms. Sanja Došen, Senior Advisor for Hunting and Agriculture, Mr. Davorin Marković, Director of the State Institute for Nature Protection, Ms. Ana Štrbenac, Head of the Project, Ms. Jasna Jeremić-Martinko, Assistant Head of the Project, Mr. Dragan Šarić, Regional Project Co-ordinator for Gorski kotar and Lika and Ms. Sonja Desnica, Database Administrator.

The same event was repeated in the head office of the North Velebit Nature Park in Krasno on 30 June.

The Open House continued in Gorski kotar where Mrkopalj and Delnice hosted the event on 5 and 6 June 2005 .

The festive opening of the event in Mrkopalj was attended by Mr. Goran Kutnjak, Head of Economic Development Office of the County Primorsko-goranska, Mr. Davorin Marković, Director of the State Institute for Nature Protection, Ms. Ana Štrbenac, Head of the Project, Ms. Jasna Jeremić-Martinko, Assistant Head of the Project, Mr. Dragan Šarić, Regional Project Co-ordinator for Gorski kotar and Lika and Ms. Sonja Desnica, Database Administrator. On that occasion eight electric fences were donated to livestock breeders of the County Primorsko-goranska. These electric fences were purchased by the funds donated by the County Primorsko-goranska to the Project of the Conservation and Management of Wolves in Croatia. The exhibition organized in the Croatian Army Centre in Delnice will be open for visitors until 13 July 2005.
