Start of meetings with local population about wolf conservation and management in Croatia

Regional co-ordinators hold regular meetings with the local population (primarily cattle-breeders and hunters) with the aim to reduce damage caused to domestic animals. The meetings are used to address key problems related to the wolf and damage caused to cattle. The participants also discuss the need for the donation of pen-guardians and electric fences and the need for similar meetings at which the local population would express their viewpoints, ideas and suggestions regarding the wolf. Conclusions of the meetings will be incorporated in the proposal for further activities within the project and the results will be communicated to the cattle-breeders.
